When I annotated my article I tried to stay focused on the main ideas and important points that connect to my topic. I wrote notes about what the author was saying and how I could use that in my essay. Annotating actually helped me understand the article better because instead of just reading, I was thinking about it which made it easier to find evidence later when I needed it.
